As well as practising at our own clinics our physiotherapists also work hand-in-hand with Waverley Private Hospital, Waverley Orthopaedic Clinic, various local sports clubs, in selected work places and for your convenience, where necessary we are able to visit and treat you in your home.

All of our highly qualified physiotherapists are registered and contracted to provide services for the Victorian WorkCover Authority, Transport Accident Commission (TAC), The Department of Veteran Affairs and all leading private health insurers. In fact, Active Physiotherapy is the preferred provider for Australia’s best health insurance companies, sports teams and many well-known corporate clients.

Philip Levin

Philip Levin graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1984, and opened a private practice in 1987. He went on to earn a post-graduate sports physiotherapy degree in 1992. His areas of interest include sports,inpatient/outpatiet orthopaedic and rebilitation managment. Phil has  been involved with the Geelong Football Club (AFL)  the under 19 Victorian Softball team and travelled overseas as part of the medical team for the Maccabiah games.

Michelle McMeeking

Michelle McMeeking graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). Following graduation from Curtin University in Western Australia, Michelle worked in acute care and rehabilitation for 2 years after which joined Active Physiotherapy. Her areas of interest include women’s health issues (especially ante-natal pain management,  post-natal exercises and education) and sports physiotherapy. Michelle has over the years updated her skills in patellofemoral joint rehabilitation,tendinopathy treatment and is now also a qualified Clinical Pilates instructor running classes at Active Physiotherapy.

Kristy Edwards

Kristy Edwards graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). Following her time at Latrobe University, Kristy spent eight years working in the United States in both private practice and hospital settings. Upon her return to Australia in 2000, she continued to work in the private sector. Kristy specialises in women’s health issues such as pregnancy related pain,pelvic floor weakness and mastitis.Correction of pelvic alignment is also her forte and she is also a qualified Clinical Pilate instructor conducting classes at Active Physiotherapy.

Amanda Gray

Amanda Gray graduated in 2008 from Melbourne University. Since earning her degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy), Amanda has worked with a variety of sporting groups ranging from the amateur to elite levels. Amanda’s main areas of specialty include Clinical Pilates, sports spinal injury and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Amanda is also a qualified Clinical Pilate instructor conducting classes at Active Physiotherapy.

Jonathan Foo

Jonathan Foo has several years of experience working in private practice, and holds both a PhD and Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from Monash University. Jonathan enjoys helping people who present with all types of problems related to muscles and joints, in particular to do with the spine/neck, shoulders, and knees.

In addition to his work at Active Physiotherapy, Jonathan teaches physiotherapy students at Monash University, conducts research at the Cabrini Department of Musculoskeletal Health and Clinical Epidemiology, and represents the profession as a council member in the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He has led several academic publications and presented at conferences around Australia and overseas.

Winnie Yeung

Winnie Yeung graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne.
After her graduation, Winnie stayed in Melbourne and worked in various areas, including nursing homes, acute hospital, hydrotherapy and private clinics, specialising in pre-natal education and exercise classes.

During this time also, Winnie acquired a post-graduate certificate in Physiotherapy (Exercise for Women).
Winnie then spent 15 years working in private practice in Hong Kong, doing general physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates.
In 2021, Winnie returned to Melbourne and joined Active Physio.
Her special interests are in pelvic alignment and Clinical Pilates.

 

Paul Kron

Paul Kron has been working in private practice since 1986, establishing numerous private practices. Paul’s interests are in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions especially spine, shoulders, and knees.

In addition to his work at Active Physiotherapy, Paul enjoys competing in triathlons, attending conferences as well as being involved in helping the underprivileged and refugees

Remedial Masseur:

Victor Pogorilla

Victor Pogorilla graduated in 1996 with a degree in Remedial Massage. He initially trained in the Soviet Union, where he gained experience as an athlete and masseur at the Olympic level (with the Russian Olympic Team). Victor then upgraded his qualifications at the Melbourne College of Natural Medicine, where he achieved multiple degrees including an Advanced Certificate in Reflexology, an Associate Diploma of Applied Sciences (Remedial Therapies), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Specialised Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy. Victor has experience in remedial massage, sports massage, relaxation massage, Swedish massage, and reflexology.
